Information

Mary Street is a reworking of a Federation-era home, where recycled brick walls define a series of indoor and outdoor living spaces within the existing site. The undulating brick form extends beyond the house to create a protective boundary, buffering the interior from the adjacent road while wrapping the original structure. Above, two brick volumes sit on a planted concrete roof. One extends from the ridge of the existing roof to house the primary suite with a private courtyard, while the other contains a compact studio. Both are lined in spotted gum plywood, forming quiet, enclosed retreats.
