A quiet rural residence on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.Defined by a simple pitched form and corrugated metal exterior, the house sits gently within a landscape of mature trees and open grassland. A restrained material palette and carefully placed openings allow the surrounding landscape and changing light to shape the experience of the architecture. At its centre, a generous opening creates a natural threshold between inside and out, framing views across the property and drawing the rural setting into the home. An exercise in simplicity, material restraint and a close connection to place.
